What is Cranial Osteopathy?

Cranial Osteopathy ...

Cranial osteopathy is a misleadng term because it can be practised on any area of the body, not just the head. The body makes continuous rhythmical cycles of motion such as breathing and heartbeat, which can be seen, and cranial rhythm, which is so subtle it cannot be seen.

I use my hands to "listen" for any impaired motion or strains in the body. I am able to feel these movements because I have a highly developed sense of touch and am trained to detect the very subtle, rhythmical changes that occur in all body tissues. Using small hand movements, I gently help the tissues to adjust, resolving the strain within them.

This gentle technique often belies the effectiveness of the therapy, as most clients report feeling nothing more than subtle sensations during a typical session.
